mentioned – maximising individual strengths, reaching full potential,

Many of us are caught up in big changes - economic
uncertainty continues, access to education, jobs and the good things in life
gets ever tougher. The assumption that working hard should deliver an easier or
better life rings hollow. Your old ways of thinking may not be working for you
like they once did. If that's not bad enough, your established support
structures like relationship, family and friends may also come under strain:
becoming part of the problem, not the answer to it.
Coaching is for people, and organisations. At its simplist, it’s about 3
things:
·
* Rethinking
· *
Future
· *
Action
Rethinking: particularly
in times of change, we all need to be on top of our game, for ourselves and
everybody around us. How much time do you devote to questioning what you do, how
you do it and whether it will deliver what you want? You may even have got out
of the habit to listening to yourself. A coach is an expert at listening,
offering insight and alternative perspectives, and asks you how you are going
to make the best of yourself.
Future: your past
is an important part of who you are, but you cannot change it; the future, you
can. Even with the benefit of extensive therapy, people sometimes continue to
be driven by the past, rather than seizing control of the wheel and driving
themselves forward. Coaching puts you in your own driving seat and asks you to
choose where you’re going and whether you’re taking the motorway or the pretty
route.
Action: coaching
delivers its results fast. Without changing the essential ‘you’, you’re clear and focused and you have decided
what you want. Planning and putting your new choices and decisions into
practice, with the support of your coach as your chief ‘champion’ is exciting,
and infectious – when you change what you do, so much else changes with you.
